The Chakras & your physical health

By Davina

Although the Chakras were discovered, discussed and named in Ancient times it has only been in our relatively more recent history that we have discovered that each of the seven chakra positions sits in the region of a major nerve plexus of the human body.

The Chakras are not physical so that you can touch and see them; they are, I believe, gateways of energy linking your subconscious and conscious minds and your physical body.
We hear of the Chakras being in or out of balance and sometimes closed, they are forever trying to regulate your energy, trying to maintain homoeostasis – like the body itself. It tries to ensure a stable and balanced state.

A Chakra can be out of balance in several ways, it may be too open, too closed, it may spin too fast, too slowly, it may not ‘run’ or ‘spin’ smoothly.  For a while as with most things we can compensate and having an ‘out of balance’ Chakra may not be too important, but if left for long periods of time it could present a problem, or indicate a problem to you on a physical level.

It’s a bit like how come when a virus is going around, not everyone will get it, some will get it worse than others, some not at all?  Just as your immune system can be strong or weak, so can the energy around you. It is entirely possible that a weakened Chakra area is where a physical ailment is more likely to present itself, not just as an illness but maybe as tension, or stress, an accident or injury.

In metaphysics parts of the body can reveal the psychosomatic  symptoms or underlying psychological implications of an illness or physical condition. This links with your subconscious mind, what it believes to be true and what sort of messages it can be sending to your physical body. When the mind believes something to be true, regardless of whether it is indeed fact or fiction then it sets about creating that as a reality.
