Traditional Qualities of Your Heart Chakra
Alternative names : The Fourth Chakra, Anahata
Color : The Heart Chakra is usually signified by the color green. However when dealing with the aura and chakras on a wider perspective then the color pink can often be attributed to the heart too. Usually I see this as more the color of self love, self nurturing – either required or being given – depending on the shade, tone and vibrancy.
Symbol: Twelve red lotus petals, at the center is a six pointed star – usually greenish grey – this represents the element of air.
Mantra: The mantra is yam. The sound here signifies life force energy and the breath itself.
Animal: A leaping black Antelope, said to signify joy.
Physical associations;
The Heart Chakra not only deals with the vital organ itself but also is very much connected with the lungs and the process of inhaling and exhaling. As well as the exchange of oxygen within the lungs and the transportation of that oxygen around the body via your blood and circulation. The Heart Chakra energy can be associated with many illnesses and conditions. It has links with your immune system, with cancer, auto immune diseases, breast issues and M.E. – to name just a few. It is obviously connected with Love, also with forgiveness and acceptance.
Not just the love for and from others. The relationship you have with yourself is hugely important. You don’t have to be shouting Out “I love myself!” at every opportunity but seriously, how do you talk to yourself – is your own self talk pretty sarcastic or criticizing? Can you comfortably spend time in your own company; do you spend time regularly – doing something – just for you – just because? Do you feel nurtured and valued? All of these sorts of things can reveal themselves in the energy of the Heart Chakra.
